Biophilic Solutions is a new nature and science podcast from the Biophilic Institute at Serenbe. Biophilia is the innate connection that human beings seek with the natural world and this podcast will help understand, elevate, and amplify biophilic solutions across a broad range of industries. Because we believe nature has the answers.

Serenbe resident Dr. Phill Tabb is the first guest on Biophilic Solutions and we wanted to share his unique point of view with the Serenbe Stories audience by asking the question "How Do We Build Resilient Communities for the Future?"

To answer this question, hosts Monica Olsen and Jennifer Walsh spoke with Dr. Phill Tabb, Professor Emeritus of Architecture at Texas A&M and the author of multiple publications on topics such as solar energy, green architecture and sustainable urban design. His most recent work, Biophilic Urbanism: Designing Communities for the Future, explores the tools to create nature-based urban environments that are climate positive, sustainable, and healthy. In this episode we discuss the five positive outcomes of biophilic urban planning, the factors at play when scaling biophilic principles from the individual to the community to the city-wide level, and we’ll dive into the mystery of ‘thin places.’
