The first gathering in a monthly horsemanship series with Karen Jones of Motivational Horsemanship. What changes when we begin by listening?

Join Karen for a live demonstration and conversation about how horses communicate—and how careful observation can deepen our understanding of them. Through attention to posture, movement, expression, tension, and subtle shifts in behavior, Karen will explore what horses may be communicating and how relationship-based horsemanship can grow from curiosity, trust, and respect.

The horses’ comfort and choice come first. They will be given space to engage or not engage, and no interaction or hands-on contact is guaranteed. We’ll learn by observing and listening to what each horse is communicating in the moment.

There will be time for conversation and Q&A.

This is for you if…

You love horses and want to understand them more deeply.

You’re curious about relationship-based horsemanship.

You’d like to notice the subtle signals that can be easy to overlook.

You’re drawn to the connection between people and horses.

You’re new to horsemanship or have years of experience.

No prior experience is needed.

What to Bring:

Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy, closed-toe shoes for time around the horses. Bring water, a layer for the weather, and a notebook if you’d like to jot things down. Questions are welcome, whether you’re new to horses or have years of experience.
