Meet the artist behind Flock of Birds, Deer Hollow Art Park's first rotating exhibit. More than 150 handcrafted blue birds, inspired by bird murmurations, fill the trees of Deer Hollow's lower clearing. Each is made from handmade Nepalese Lokta paper and resin-coated against the weather, and some carry twigs, seed pods and pine cones. Join artist Dorothy O'Connor for an afternoon conversation about the ideas behind the work, how it was made, and what it means to see it live among the trees. Dorothy O'Connor blends photography, installation and public art. A Hambidge Fellow and former artist-in-residence at Cheekwood, her work is held in the permanent collections of MOCA GA and Cheekwood. Free and open to all, no RSVP needed. Reception with light bites and drinks to follow. Presented by Art Farm at Serenbe.
