Hills & Hamlets Bookshop will host Sarah Edmondson and Anthony "Nippy" Ames on Saturday, October 10th at 10am for a book-signing to celebrate their recent release, A Little Bit Culty: Navigating Cults, Control, and Coercion.
A Little Bit Culty (ALBC) follows on the heels of Edmondson’s 2019 memoir, Scarred: The True Story of How I Escaped NXIVM, the Cult that Bound My Life, as well as the couple’s acclaimed HBO series, The Vow, which followed them in real time as they made their escape from the group.
The pair guides their audience through the qualities of high-control groups, such as love-bombing, coercive control, gaslighting, and manipulation, using their experience, wisdom, and a little bit of humor. Edmondson and Ames continue to provide a vital resource for anyone interested in learning more about the often-invisible techniques of cults, through guests who share their own personal stories and case studies that reference other infamous groups.
