Join us for an afternoon of South African wine and East African flavors created by Chef Sidney Corum as we celebrate Lessons in Hope, a compelling new book by Serenbe resident Juliet Cutler that highlights the transformative impact of education on Maasai women in Tanzania.

This special event is sponsored by Eyes On You Safaris, a boutique travel company founded by Serenbe residents Julie and Jeff Thompson. Their thoughtfully curated adventures immerse travelers in the heart of Africa’s wild beauty—from the graceful rumble of elephants crossing open plains and the distant roar of lions at dusk to the quiet awe of encountering mountain gorillas. With each bespoke journey, Eyes On You Safaris brings the soul-stirring magic of the continent to life, creating unforgettable experiences that linger long after you return home.

All net proceeds from the evening will benefit scholarships for Maasai girls in Tanzania through the nonprofit organization Operation Bootstrap Africa. In addition, Eyes On You Safaris will generously match all donations made as part of the event, up to $1,000. Books will also be available for purchase on-site.

About the Book

Lessons in Hope shares the inspiring true stories of Maasai women in Tanzania who have overcome deep poverty, gender-based violence, and limited access to schooling to pursue an education. Today, they are educators, healthcare providers, public servants, entrepreneurs, and community leaders—women who are rising to lead change from within and shape a more just future.
