Primary Responsibilities
The Maintenance Director maintains a positive working environment while providing support to the Housekeeping, Farmhouse, and Guest Services team. In addition, they will be responsible for all Inn buildings, Farmhouse Restaurant, and community homes in the Inn Rental Program. The Maintenance Director will directly supervise all maintenance personnel and ensure proper completion of all maintenance-related duties, including but not limited to general repairs, preventative maintenance, grounds, event sets, inventory and ordering, managing contracted repairs, cost control and budgeting.
This position will report directly to the General Manager, but will work closely with the Serenbe Chief of Staff, Director of Housekeeping, Director of F&B, and Director of Sales.
General Responsibilities-
Supervise maintenance team including training and personnel development.
Ensure performance management, coaching, and development of team members.
Conduct regular inspections of property, property systems and equipment; identify and resolve issues.
Develop, implement, and maintain an effective preventative and predictive maintenance program for task schedulings, routines and performance. Program to include procedures for annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly, and other scheduled maintenance.
Develop and maintain effective property and building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
Coordinate maintenance efforts with team as well as outside contractors.
Oversee all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical issues.
Maintain ongoing communication with management, guests, vendors, and staff.
Develop specifications and assist in solicitation, administration, execution, and performance of maintenance/repair service contracts.
Implement and administer inventory control programs, purchase parts and supplies.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agency, and company directive as it relates to property operations.
Oversight of Animal Village on property that cares for chickens, pigs, goats, sheep, cows, and horses.
Work Schedule
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends. The hotel is a 24-hour operation. Maintenance is currently scheduled from 7am - 9pm, seven days a week. You will be responsible for making the schedule and ensuring shifts are covered. A work week consists of five days of work and two days off. You will be expected to work a minimum of 45 hours a week, but there may be times when you will need to work more because of staffing levels or business needs.
